Description
Having A Career While Protecting Your Health
A Mindful Approach to Self-Care
Happiness, emotional intelligence and resiliency are not simply dependent on a person’s genes. They are a set of skills that can be taught, and, with practice, developed over time. The bulk of what determines life and work satisfaction is one’s thoughts, actions, and behaviors. Gyll Turteltaub will highlight the evidence supporting the relationship between mindfulness, emotional wellbeing and health outcomes. Participants will engage in a mindful exercise and will learn practical strategies for increasing emotional intelligence, resiliency, and cultivating happiness.
Sitting is the New Smoking
Due to longer work hours, lengthier commutes, and more sedentary social pursuits, people now spend hundreds of thousands of hours sitting. Dr. Christopher Nizer discusses the physiological effects of excessive sitting, the importance of maintaining a healthy spine, and will provide the “do’s” and “don’ts” of sitting.
